Baby Irsa and her mother were reunited, three months after Irsa’s birth.
It was an emotional journey for this courageous family. Shortly after Irsa’s birth, her mother faced postpartum psychosis, which led to their temporary separation.
MBF worked closely with the family during this time, to understand maternal mental health, and help them care for Irsa while supporting Mama with her treatment.
In a context and country where maternal mental health is often misunderstood and undermanaged, we are grateful to this family for their openness and willingness to get Mama the support and care she needed.
We are now working with Mama and baby to help them reestablish their bond.
